Steve Harvey's Daughter Is Serious

I don't make it a point to post pictures of celebrities children and I can only think of a few other times that I have (Charles Barkley's Daughter, Vanessa Williams' daughters come to mind) but I'd be neglectful of my responsibilities if I didn't share these pictures. Steve Harvey's daughter is serious. I'm pretty sure she went to OSU too as I remember reading something like that (I know she's from Cleveland). I don't know how I missed seeing her on the Oval though. Anyway, this doesn't necessarily qualify as an official "Wednesday's Woman" but who care, Steve Harvey's daughter:

UPDATE: This has been confirmed now to not be Steve Harvey's Daughter. Apologies for the mistake. It is in fact model Jasmine J Santiago. Apologies to her. Follow her on Twitter or on Facebook. She's obviously very beautiful and has been classy about the whole situation and we should all show her some support. Again, sorry for the mix up.

Facebook Breaking Up Happy Homes Everyday

A British man who murdered his wife after becoming enraged when she changed her relationship status on Facebook to "single" was jailed for at least 18 years late Thursday.

Edward Richardson, 41, stabbed wife Sarah, 26, to death in a "frenzied and brutal" attack at her parents' home in Biddulph, central England, last May after she altered her profile on the Internet social networking site.

The couple had been living apart since the previous month, said Fiona Cortese, a spokeswoman for the Crown Prosecution Service, which is responsible for prosecuting cases in England and Wales.

"Richardson became enraged when Sarah changed her marital status on Facebook to single and decided to go and see her as she was not responding to his (text) messages," Cortese said.

"He gained entry by breaking the front door window and made his way into the property.

"Once inside, he found Sarah in her bedroom and subjected her to a frenzied and brutal attack with a knife and then attempted to take his own life."

Sarah Richardson's parents Beryl and Alan Boote said they were left "devastated" by her murder after the verdict at Stafford Crown Court, central England.

"We hope that Richardson will be an old man before he's ever allowed out of prison," they said.

Detective Inspector Andy Wall, who worked on the case, added: "She had decided that her marriage to Edward Richardson was over but this was clearly something he could not accept."

Which reminds me, I gotta get out the facebook game once and for all.

Bill O'Reilly Reporting On The Jay-Z/Young Jeezy Video From Below

I know I said I'd stop with the President Obama commentary but this video is just an a necessary update of an earlier post (Jay-Z "My President Is Black"). This time a perspective on the performance from a conservative turd like Bill O'Reilly whose opinions don't even really matter any more as the election proved America isn't with him and FOX News anymore but for entertainment purposes deserves to be seen.

P.S Plus if you absolutely must watch something that channel puts on air now during the Obama presidency, make sure you watch it online and deprive these jerks of the ratings. Don't feed the beast.

Now I urge you all to enjoy.

Rare Footage: MLK Predicting President Barack Obama's Presidency (1968)

Certainly not dead on by any means but his foresight was generally within range of how the events that followed occurred. Perhaps General Colin Powell could have brought his vision to fruition in the nineties.
I won't flood the blog with too many more President Obama posts because it's not like everybody isn't already following this closely enough without me and every other talking head out there only further drumming readers over the head with their stories and tidbits and opinions. You know how I feel and you know my sense of pride. Let's honor the day by looking and moving forward getting back to optimizing our own usefulness.

Jay - Z "My President Is Black"

Just read and let it soak...

My president is black in fact he's half white
So even in a racist's mind he's half right
So if you got a racist mind its all right
My president is black, but his house is all white
Rosa Parks sat so Martin Luther could walk
Martin Luther walked so Barack Obama could run
Barack Obama ran so all the children can fly
So I'ma spread my wings you can meet me in the sky
I already got my own clothes, I already got my own shoes
I was hot before Barack, imagine what Im gonna do
Hello Miss America, hey pretty lady
Red, white and blue flag wave for me baby
Never thought I say this shit, baby I'm good
You can keep the puss, I dont want no more Bush
No more war, no more Iraq
No more white lies, my president is black

Just asking? Anyone think it's hot? It moves according to your voice and to the beat of songs.

If NFL Players/Figures Were Politicians

I had fun with the previous, If NBA Players Were Rappers entry, that I figured why not compare Politicians and NFL Names. So enjoy...

Brett Favre = John McCain

Tough, gritty veterans who you have to tip your hat too for lifetimes of works. Someone though you've lost some respect for this year due to them being pricks. You realize their times were before and since they've come back they haven't exactly been the guys they were beforehand. Lost a ton of stock in '08. Probably need to just go away but most likely won't.

Kurt Warner = Bill Clinton

You have your fondest memories of both in the late nineties. Saw what appeared to be their last hoorah's early 2001 only to see them get back on their grizzly again in 2008. Both old dogs, both don't need to learn new tricks as they seem as effective as ever in the present.

Chad Johnson = Joe Biden

God love 'em you can't not be drawn in by their infectious attitudes and auras regardless of who your allegiances might be too. You smile when you hear them make a witty line, although both do tend to sitck their feet in their mouth at some of the most inopportune times. Skillful but prone to make asses out of themselves. Can't help it.

Any Oakland Raiders QB From 2003 - Present = Sarah Palin

You cannot win with them. Ever. It's just impossible. If you build your franchise on them, it will sink. The competency just isn't there. Best advice is just run the wishbone with no QB or VP and direct snap to the RB or Presidential nominee. Wildcat formation all day if you hope to be successful.

Plaxico Burress = John Edwards

Could have had a big year in 2008 but ended up with yolk all over their faces. Showed promise but took huge embarrassing steps back this year. You can't even begin to rationalize the stupidity in what they did.If only they could have kept their guns from going off in their pants.

T.O = Rod Blagojavich

Lightning rods for controversy. Complete assholes with that walk around with absolutely no shame to their game. Believe that they are the central focus point to things and that they must be taken care of first and foremost. Just total turds.

LT = Hillary Clinton

Have been forces to be reckoned with for a long time but due to circumstance, must take a backseat to the new kid on the block. You have respect for but most likely they worked against you (Fantasy Football & '08 campaign) a lot in the past couple years at some points.

Ben Roethlisburger = Jimmy Carter

Lord only knows how they won big their one time. Just goofy dopes who have no business having that one big win on their resume. Somebody was asleep at the wheel when they reigned.

Bill Belicheck = Richard Nixon

Cheated, got caught trying to peep the other side's plays. Dirty, foul type dudes. They win but nobody likes them.

Joey Porter = Ronald Reagan

Complete jerks with unlikable personalities. Both got shot in the ass because they were such pricks. Both survived. I have no idea why large masses of people like either. Both strong on defense.

Al Davis = Ron Paul

Old white guys who have completely lost their minds. Believe in absolutely no rules. Do and say whatever they want even though it translates to little to no chance run after run. Only fringe elements still support them.

Peyton Manning = Barack Obama

The full story is still miles away from being written but both have the potential to be the best that did it. They have all the tools that any great leader has ever possessed. Both smart, funny, personable, humble and have shown the ability to call audibles depending on how the defense looks to attack them. Can't deny that this '08 season belonged completely to them and both absolutely deserved their accolades this fall.

Jake Delhomme = John Kerry

Had no earthly business being in the big game in '04. In fact, the only discernible difference between the two that year was that one made a boob of himself in one case and in the other case a lot was made about a boob. Either way nobody gave a damn about either one of them since and with good reason. Absolute awful choices for center stage. They've been relegated to career background dudes.

Pacman Jones = Dick Cheney

Has no problem getting into beef or coaxing people in his entourage into engaging in such buffoonery. Men get shot in their presence. Approval ratings are somewhere in the teens right now as nobody likes or will likely employ either going forward in 2009 but they probably don't care as they've made enough money to wallow in from inflicting pain on others anyway.

Rod Marinelli = George W. Bush

Oversaw so many L's over their tenure it looks like the 'L' key got stuck on the keyboard. History will only remember them in infamy as opposed to glory. Every instinct they've ever had has been wrong and they almost never flinched in making them. Decisive and derisive but the good news is their tenures are at an end.

Jerry Jones = Al Sharpton
All he does is rally around troubled black people and champion their causes until they can't be saved.

Posthumously, Happy 30th Aaliyah

Been meaning to tell you all that an Aaliyah Bio-Pic is in the works and Canadian songstress Keisha Chante (Google is your friend)is slated to play the starring role. I don't know how I feel about it though. I mean I was firmly in the in the Aaliyah camp for many years pre-2001 and I knew as much about her and appreciated every moment I got to watch her those years and bought, watched and followed everything that had anything to do with her so anything almost a decade after the fact might be harmful to her memory to a lot of people in my opinion and I for one don't wish to take part in any remembrance of her as anything more or less than the way she chose to project herself to the world in the brief time she shared her life with us. I don't want somebody else's interpretation of her life even if it's being built primarily from notes and stories fleshed out from her friends and family. She told her own story every day she lived and it should probably stay that way.

Even when Ray came out, I was fine with that as Ray Charles had creative control as to what his story on the big screen entailed. It was as much his framing as it was the director's on-screen adaptation and probably more so and that's the difference. Unfortunately Aaliyah can't be extended that kind of luxury now and so I see this in relative poor taste.

Anyway, it's strange to see Aaliyah in my mind's eye as a woman firm in her adulthood as 30. Not that it's a picture I couldn't conjure, as her maturity and poise was always that of someone well beyond her D.O.B., it's just different. I always saw her, and admittedly still do see her, as someone older than me even though I guess now I'd be the older man in a sense seeing how I've seen two additional years than she had when she left us. It's best, and if I chose my words wiser I guess I would say 'easier', not to think on 'what if' scenarios that do little to fill the gap curiosity leaves as to what shape the genre would be in right now if she were celebrating her 30th birthday here in the physical form with us. Instead I'll raise my glass later tonight to her memory and the ample ones she did actually leave and not the one as interpreted by other people.

Rest in peace.

Song Of The Day: P.Genz "I Still Love H.E.R"

My man sent me this song the other day and I let it play and downloaded and then I proceeded to let it play some more and some more and some more and I have to be very honest, it's a pretty good song. So much so, that I feel that it really warrants you all to download it, not to show some support because I'm asking for it, but because it's a pretty good song and I think you'll be pleased if you check my mans out. Coming out of NJ, the future of Hip-Hop Young Genz (and I don't even post Hip-Hop here so that's how you know I co-sign this). Check out the song and if you're so inclined please check out my man's myspace page too for more info and upcoming music.

Wednesday's Woman: Teairra Marie

Count me among the crowd that never really understood all the hate for Teairra Marie. Everytime I heard/hear somebody say something bad about her singing or her attitude or whatever else my reaction is always the same:

"Really"

Because to me there were always worse offenders in teenage bubble gum music than her. Way worse. I mean you're talking about a guy whose lived through some pretty awful music periods. Kelly Osbourne, Ashlee Simpson, Lil Mama, JoJo and you're hissing at Teairra Marie? I'm saying though, at least she can sing. At least she is pretty cute (and LEGAL!). Always struck me as a double standard to say she sucks but turn around and have Rihanna (the yoddler aka Female John Legend)on your iPod. How lame. Granted I'm not the preferred demographic for any of the record producers and bigwigs trying to package this music for mass consumption but it's all the same at the end of the day. The subject matter, the media blitzes, the formulas and the packaging are pretty much all practiced by all of them but for some reason Teairra Marie gets all the hate?

Seriously?

As talented and probably more so, as fine and probably more so than your average former teeny bopper and somehow became taboo because Jay-Z waived his hand? Let me tell you something, Rihanna is not the end all be all. Her songs are almost always annoying. She has a big forhead and her vanity is undeserved. I just don't get it (and probably shouldn't at my age) but such is the fickle nature of the pop music game which is why I don't and haven't consumed MTV pre-10PM programming since 2000.

But if I see more of Teairra Marie I just might have to. She looks good, has an album coming this year and if I get my way I probably might be watching more MTV (cringe) or worse *gulp* BET (cringe harder) but for all the right reasons.

Nothing more to say but me and the Colonel can't be friends after this foolishness. How condescending of him.

Barack Obama 'Man Of The People' At Some Restaraunt In D.C

LOL @ "Nah, we straight"

WASHINGTON – What does the president-elect order on his first Saturday afternoon since moving into town? A chili dog and cheese fries.

Barack Obama dropped in Saturday afternoon for a bite to eat with Washington's mayor, Adrian Fenty, at Ben's Chili Bowl, the venerable diner in Washington's U Street district.

Obama said it was his first time visiting Ben's Chili Bowl and "it was terrific." The expectation is that Obama — already at ease in big cities from his time in Chicago — will venture into town more than President George W. Bush, who rarely made forays into unofficial Washington.

After Obama's motorcade wandered through the U street district, passing the African-American Civil War Memorial and a flee market selling shirts that bear his face, he and Fenty surprised the restaurant around lunchtime. Patrons shrieked with delight and surprise as they saw his face. A mother blushed as Obama held her baby in his arms. The president-elect and the mayor moved slowly through the restaurant's crowded rooms, shaking hands and getting pictures taken with patrons.

Still, they came there to eat. "Where the food at?" he finally asked the counter staff, drawing laughs from them and nearby patrons.

He and Fenty ordered a house specialty, a Chili Half-Smoke — a quarter-pound half pork and beef smoked sausage on a steamed bun with mustard, onions and chili sauce — along with a big helping of some cheese fries.

They found a small table. They had the popular food. They even chatted it up with nearby customers at their tables. But something was still missing: the shredded cheese. Obama yelled for some — "not the Velveeta" kind, he said — and it was quickly delivered.

Word must have gotten out he was in the area: After Obama and Fenty had their meal and left the building, dozens of people who had lined up before security barriers cheered him on as walked toward his motorcade.
If he's as smart and wise and personable as I suspect he is, we've got a great four year ahead of us.

The Obama Mobile

While this thing looks less like a Presidential ride than a No Limit Tank I can't say I'm disappointed or mad at seeing the layer of security their decking this ride out with. As Curtis Jackson once said 'Many men, many many many many men, wish death upon me' and you have to know Obama and those close to him know that all too much by now. Still, this car and God's blessings ought to set aside much concern and that makes me sleep better at night. It doesn't look like much to look at but I'm not hating. Do you, Barack.

We're Just Two Days In And I Already have The Video of 2009

This little piece of funny was a scene from a movie called Trapped (don't ask me, I haven't heard/seen it either) starring Roger from the 70's show What's Happening and apparently Spider Loc. This is something not to be missed. Really. It's reminiscent of John Witherspoon circa the original Friday movie. You're only hurting yourself if you sleep on this. Just press play. It's worth your time. Seriously.

The Worst of KG (Video)

To tell the truth, I was a huge fan of Kevin Garnett before he came to the Boston Celtics for many years. In fact from memory, I can't recall a time where I've had anything to say about Kevin that wasn't flattering or complimentary. That's the God's honest truth. Recently, though he's become a bit of a punk and he shows what a female body part he has (use your imagination) too often for my liking. I'm not saying I can't credit him for the resurgence of my favorite basketball player Paul Pierce's career. If I'm telling the full story I'd have to tip my hat to him and Ray for re-energizing Pierce and taking some of the pressure night in and night out off of Paul's shoulders. I still believe Pierce is and has been the best player on the team but that's neither here nor there. The point is however, KG during this remarkable Celtics run has been quite good and has also been quite bad. He's not quite annoying enough to be in the "Alonzo Mourning of 2002-2006" category where Alonzo Mourning was the unquestioned undisputed prick of the league because Garnett does way more than 'Zo so some of the chest thumping is permissible but still there are MAJOR character flaws with KG that can't be overlooked.

So I came upon this video of a highlight reel of all the moments in KG's career that help prove my case. I mean he even tried to pick a fight with Tim Duncan, the NBA's Dali Llama. Duncan is by far the most docile, easy going mellow superstar in the league; Completely devoid of ego and KG even riles him up.

Watch this video and watch all the inconsistencies of KG's character on full display.

Anybody gonna pay money to watch this new network? Somehow I don't think it'll match what the NFL network or NBAtv provides.
